Feynman's study method is a four-step study method to truly understand and internalize complex concepts.
This method proceeds as follows:
1. Choose a topic you want to learn.
Decide on a concept or content that interests you and write it down on paper.
2. Write it down as if you were explaining it to a child.
With the mindset of explaining it to an elementary school student or someone who knows nothing, write down the content in simple terms and examples. Do not use difficult or technical terms.
3. Find the part where you are having trouble explaining.
If there is a part that is difficult or difficult to explain, it is a part that you have not fully understood yet. Check this part.
4. Study again and organize it more easily.
Study the part where you are having trouble again and refine the content so that you can explain it more easily and clearly.
It is more effective if you actually explain it to someone.
Repeating this process enables learning based on true understanding, not memorization.
Feynman emphasized that “if you really understand something, you should be able to explain it to anyone”.
“If you can’t explain something simply, you don’t really understand it.”
- Richard Feynman
The Feynman Technique is a very powerful study method that can be applied to all fields, including math, science, and coding.
